Life As A Dialogue

All of life is a canvas of dialogue. Within this canvas of energy and consciousness, we are in a constant flow of exchange. We are sustained by an ocean of intelligence and love, nurtured by it, and connected through it. Human beings have created a sense of separation. We imagine ourselves to be separate from this nurturing fabric of being. Of course, we’re not, but by maintaining this sense of separation, we are creating unnecessary suffering for ourselves.

The root of this separation is our disconnection from ourselves, which keeps us separate from others. The tendency to be separate, consciously, or unconsciously, is disempowering and harmful. Unfortunately, it has become socially acceptable and is considered normal. We have developed automatic patterns of living in isolation, which perpetuates our sense of separateness. One of the most important lessons that we have to personally and collectively realize is our connection and unity with others, and with life. Working towards dissolving the sense of separation we have, and creating unity is not an easy task, but it is one of the most urgent ones.

The writing is on the wall, flashing in neon lights. We are all connected. We have always been, since the beginning of time. Within the last 50 years, as communication, media, and technology developed, the imagined gap of separateness started closing. The reality of being a global village hit us. We can no longer ignore disasters, corruption, or social/political upheavals that are happening on the other side of the globe. We can no longer deny their direct effects on us. There is one matrix of life, and we are all parts of it, interconnected and interdependent. It is time to think, feel and dialogue globally; it is time to open our hearts and minds to our neighbors, our community, and beyond, to our world.

Yes, we are very busy – most of us are multitasking – overworked, and sometimes overwhelmed. It takes much focus and energy to end a regular day. In spite of all of that, we must get involved and stand up for unity, values, and justice. It is our birthright and our responsibility.
