The High Cost We All Pay for Lack of Awareness
The most precious gift we have as human beings is our ability to be aware. It gives us the power to witness our thoughts, feelings and actions and to meditate on them, learn lessons and evolve.
The earth, including the plant and animal kingdom, operates instinctively guided by the laws of nature. Man has the privilege of consciously guiding his / her actions, thoughts and feelings.
What are we doing with this gift?
The lack of awareness can cause problems for yourself, other people and even the planet. Man’s lack of care and awareness for the natural world has created plastic pollution that has created a danger to our health, the planet and wildlife. Greed and lack of awareness has fueled the opioid epidemic. Purdue Pharma, the drug manufacturer behind the addictive painkiller OxyContin profited off the opioid epidemic which cost hundreds of thousands of Americans their lives. On the other hand, a positive example of creating awareness is the movement to educate teens about the health impact of e-cigarettes. CDC has now created programs and guidelines to help parents, teachers, and coaches build more awareness among teens about the health dangers of e-cigarettes.
Look at your life and consider the cost of a lack of awareness for yourself and others.
This can bring a heightened sense of understanding. We all have some blind spots, areas of consciousness that are not fully developed. These are the ones we need to pay attention to most.
We are constantly evolving, being co-creators with the Source. We sculpt art; construct buildings, institute laws, etc. Since we are here to contribute to the quality of life, we need to evaluate our thoughts, feelings and actions on a daily basis.
Choose an area in your life that demands more awareness and ask yourself these three key questions.
1. How am I causing what is happening in this area of my life?
3. What do I need to shift within me to create positive expansion in this area?
